New Features in Task ReportingTool



This is how the application new UI looks like....


After looking into the previous application, I though like I should put some more feature to make it more easy and attractive to use. Feature enhancements which are done:
1. Option of Selecting a single day
2. Option of providing a keyword to search your sent mail items.
3. Ready to send mail

A checkbox has been provided to select the option of pulling out task report for a single day. When the checkbox is checked, app will also draft a mail for you, where in you have just have to type the recipients name and press Ctrl+S.

A textbox has been provided for the user to enter the keyword for searching sent mail items.If nothing is entered, by default the sent items will be searched on the keyword "status".

How to install Android Emulator on Windows

As part of my testing work, I am currently working on using webdriver to test on Android. So I had to install Android Emulator on Windows 7. Below are the sequential steps and I hope it will ease some pain on getting Android emulator on your Windows 7 box. Download the installer from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html Install it to a location (like: C:\Program Files\Android) Launch “SDK Manager.exe” It will launch a “Android SDK and AVD Manager”. By default “Installed packages” will be highlighted. On the pop up “Choose Packages to Install”, there will be some packages selected already. Go ahead with the “Install”. 4.    Once it is done, select “Virtual Devices” to create one for you. Click on “New” and enter some name. Target as “Android 2.2 – API Level 8”. Select Size as “512” and “ Built-in ” to be “WVGA854” and click on “ Create AVD ”. 5. Once done select the Virtual device you created and click on Start . Test Case Paths : Happy, Sad & Bad

I came back from the background of writing test cases which were categorized in either Positive or Negative test cases. Positive test cases were business flows which may or may not give any result but they will certainly not give any exception or error. Negative test cases are those test cases which were bound to result into some exception or better expressed as error causing scenarios.  Then those positive test cases were prioritized as High/Medium/Low . Finally it used to result in quite a comprehensive test case document. Then it will go through the process of review and few more updates or change of priority etc. Certainly it is a tedious process.
